is an easy to make summer frozen treat.
Today I’m guest posting at 365ish Days of Pinterest today. I’m excited to be sharing one of our favorite frozen treats, Watermelon Popsicles.
Watermelon screams summer and it’s a fruit that has many health benefits. Most fruit is healthy but many of us may not realize that watermelon is much more than just 92% water content.
Studies show that Watermelon has the highest concentration of lycopene of any fresh fruit or vegetable (think tomatoes); it contains potassium as well as the amino acids citrulline and arginine, which can help maintain arteries, blood flow and overall cardiovascular function.
It’s so easy to make fresh fruit frozen treats. If you have kids that want to help in the kitchen this is a great way to get them involved.
You can make this frozen watermelon treat without using refined sugar since, more often than not, the fresh fruit has enough sweetness that no sugar is needed. If by chance you do need more sweetness use the juice from fresh squeezed oranges or you can add a fresh peach to the blender.
If your kids do not like fruit, this may be a way to get them to change their mind. It may take a while but I’ve seen it happen – don’t give up!
A BIG thank you to Nicole for having me as guest post today. It was so much fun making refreshing and healthy frozen Watermelon Popsicles to share with Nicole while she is enjoying summer fun time with her family.
