Frozen treats are easy to make and you can control the sugar especially for the kids. The kids never realize there is no sugar in these treats.
Using the leftover fresh fruits is a great way to revive them. They are often very sweet so they are just ‘ripe’ for making a frozen treat.
I had leftover grilled pineapple and frozen mango which I was using in my green smoothies. The tropical fruits make a great pairing along with the added fresh lime juice and lime zest.
This is so easy to make, cut up the fruits and add to the blender jar, add the juice from a lime, cover the jar and give a whirl for a few seconds.
Taste for flavor and sweetness and if needed you can add a drizzle of honey if necessary.
Grilled Pineapple Mango Popsicles
- 1 1/2 cups fresh cubed pineapple
- 1 cup fresh or frozen mango cubed
- 2 teaspoons lime zest
- Juice from 1 fresh lime
- Add the fruit and lime juice to the blender.
- Taste for sweetness and add a little honey as needed.
- Stir in the lime zest.
- Pour into molds and freeze.
You can make any frozen fruit popsicles in less then 10 minutes. Mix up the fruit in the morning and get them in the freezer ASAP and they should be ready for an evening snack.
Make these any day or for weekend gatherings.
