Lucky for me my mom was the queen of “neat and clean”. She always found ways to do things easier. Like this easy guacamole no mess recipe for appetizers or game day snacks. It’s also a delicious dip to enjoy while relaxing on the patio with a refreshing glass of iced tea.
When plastic kitchen bags became a staple in our house many years ago my mom found many ways to use them for food prep. Back “in the day” mom was innovative, but today everyone makes use of the bags in a thousand and one ways.

Since guacamole can be a personal taste preference you can make this recipe your own by using the ingredients you enjoy. The amount of each ingredient will vary depending on how many avocados you use and your personal taste preferences.
Add the avocado to the ziploc bag and gently squeeze the avocado with your hands to mash it lightly. You can add in your selected ingredients to the plastic bag but after I’ve made this a few times I decided to scoop out the mashed avocado from the baggie and place it into a bowl and then gently stir in the remaining ingredients.Print

- 1 large ziploc freezer bag
- 3 Ripe Avocados, peeled and pitted, and slice in quarters
- 1-3 Fresh tomatoes chopped
- 1-3 cloves chopped garlic (to taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion (optional)
- chopped fresh cilantro
- Juice from 1 lime
- salt and pepper to taste
- Add the cut up avocado to the plastic bag and gently squeeze the avocado into the desired chunkiness you prefer.
- Add to a bowl and then stir in the remaining ingredients.
- Taste for seasonings and add as desired.
