I’ve been drinking ‘green’ smoothies everyday for a little more than a year. When I first started making smoothies I always used frozen strawberries which made the drinks tasty and palatable.
It took a few months to realize that the health benefits of blending fresh spinach and other fresh fruits and vegetables everyday are so worth making this new healthy drink everyday.
Every week I buy different fruits to add to the smoothies. Apples, oranges, pineapple and berries are good additions to the spinach and other veggies you may want to add. You can also add ripe bananas to the smoothies as well. Use your favorites and you will definitely enjoy a healthy ‘green’ smoothie.
Blueberries are still in my fridge so I added them to my drink with one last peach, 1/4 of a lime and then added a little honey.
Smoothies are a great way to give the kids vegetables they may not normally eat. The spinach and other vegetables loose their flavor among the fresh fruits. Choose their favorite fruits and they will never know it has spinach in it.
Blueberry Peach Smoothie Dairy Free Recipe

- 8 oz. filtered water
- 1 cup of fresh baby spinach
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 peach, peeled
- 1/4 lime, peeled
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 TBLS. honey (or your sweetener choice)
Some fruits are very sweet and you may be able to eliminate added sweetener.
- Add ingredients to blender and blend until the fruit and ice are smooth.
