Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
is sweet/spicy and one of my favorites for dipping soft pretzels.
I made soft pretzels this week. The boys love snacking on these when they are watching their favorite game and this week it’s the Olympics.
Growing up in New York soft pretzels were always a favorite snack while you were dodging the crowds on the city streets — there is a pretzel cart on every corner.
A favorite way to eat the soft pretzels is to dip them in New York Deli Style mustard. While I’m a fan of deli-style mustard I’m a bigger fan of honey mustard.
I always mix up a simple dip with the condiments I have in the fridge. To make it even easier you can just use any of your favorite dips from the market.
To make the soft pretzels, I’ve made this pretzel recipe many times to make a variety of pretzels. The pretzel dough is a yeast dough but don’t let it intimidate you, they are really very easy to make.
- ½ cup Dijon mustard (you can use whatever mustard you prefer)
- 3 TBLS. honey
- ½ tsp. hot sauce
- Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Taste for desired sweet and spicy flavor. Add more mustard if too spicy, or add more spice or honey as needed.
This is a great snack to have for family movie night or for large gatherings.
