This Cooking With Kids Pretzel Bites recipe is very easy to make and a fun cooking project for the kids. Great for afternoon snacks on the weekends or family movie nights.



Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

  1. Fill a 3 to 4 quart saucepan with water and bring to a boil.
  2. Roll out the dough into long strips and lay them out on the parchment paper.
  3. Cut the strips into 2 inch pieces.
  4. Add the baking soda to the boiling water and drop 6 to 10 pieces of the dough into the water for about 20-30 seconds or until they rise to the top. Remove with slotted spoon and place on paper towels.
  5. Continue until all the dough has been ‘bathed’ in the water.
  6. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with course salt.
  7. Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and place in a bowl. Serve with mustard dip or your favorite dipping sauce.
