This is an easy recipe which uses Jello that you can make with the kids. This time of year it’s easy to engage the kids to help in the kitchen. It’s great for making memories. Supervision is important since this involves boiling water and sugar.
Prep Time:5 min.
Cook Time:8-12 min.
Total Time:1-2 hr. chill time
1/3 cup cold water
2 packets of unflavored gelatin
1 pkg. of Orange Jello (use your favorite flavor)
1/3 cup of water
In a small saucepan add 1/3 cup cold water and sprinkle the two packets of unflavored gelatin over the top. Let it sit a few minutes to absorb the water.
Turn the stove on to medium heat, stir in the Jello and add in another 1/3 cup of water.
Stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and the jello and gelatin has dissolved. This takes about 3 minutes.
Remove from heat and pour into a cup with a pour spout. Pour the mixture gently into the molds. (If using ice cube trays only fill them 1/4 to 1/2 way.)
Place in the fridge to set up. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to about 1 hour – depending on how much liquid you added to the molds.
