Air Fryer Stromboli, Ham, Cheese and Spinach appetizer for a quick and easy Appetizer or Game Day Snack, any time and any occasion.
AIR FRYER INSTRUCTIONS:
#1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. It should be fairly thin, approximately just under 1/4 inch thick.
#2. Layer out each item leaving a 3/4 inch border. Start with the cheese, continue with the remaining items and end with a layer of cheese.
#3. Roll up as tight as possible, and tuck in the ends.
#4. Brush top with egg wash, cut 2 or 3 slits in the top of the dough to allow steam to escape.
#5.Use a non-stick spray on the foil if using, to place in your air fryer, or be sure to use non-stick cooking spray on the air fryer basket.
#6. Carefully pick up the stromboli and place into the air fryer. Bake @ 360 Degrees for 12- 15 minutes. (Time is approximate. Check your air fryer for details.)
#7. When browned, carefully remove from the air fryer using a large spatula to lift it out.
Let it cool about 8 minutes, then slice and serve.
OVEN BAKED INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the stromboli the same from #1 thru #4 Above.
#5. Carefully pick up the stromboli and place it on a parchment lined baking sheet.
#6. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes or until nicely browned and the dough is cooked on the bottom. Use a spatula to lift the stromboli to see if the bottom of crust is browned.
This is a very flexible recipe. You can use any deli items and/or veggies you wish. The cooking time will vary based on how much mozzarella is used due to moisture, and how large the stromboli is. Average oven baking time will vary from 25 minutes to 45 minutes. To test for doneness, use a large spatula to lift up the stromboli. You can tell when the dough is cooked when the bottom of the dough is dry and crisp.
